Miniature Lionlops are indefinitely where my passion lies. I stumbled across them a few years back. Since then, I have never looked back, there will always be a lionlop here, no doubt about it. They are such a sweet, laid back breed, that make great pets for people of any age. My lionlops are bred from the best lines and are therefore top quality, most of which from Nicky and Glenys-Kirkash Stud, but also from Jane Bramley, Eddie Alder and Julie Smith. My lionlops do not have lionhead in their breeding. A true lionlop will not have any lionhead in them at all. However, it is not uncommon for them to have miniature lop in them, which is fine, a lionlop is practically a mini lop with a mane, but still a breed in its own right. I occasionally cross mini lop into my lionlops, this can improve type, introduce new bloodlines or help with new colours. I am mainly working on one colour, but this doesn't mean I do not have other colours. I am working towards the chocolate and lilac lionlop, but mainly have carriers. I have blue's, sooty fawns and various other colours to help me along the way. I also have a small selection of sables, smokes, bluepoints, sealpoints etc. With lionlops, you will only get out what you put in, so you need to prepared for a bit of work with them. They will need frequent grooming, ideally once a day. The single manes will not need as much grooming, but the double manes and teddy manes will need a lot of grooming. However, do not let this put you off, as it is extremely rewarding afterwards! Also on this page are a few examples of my lionlops. All of my rabbits can be viewed in person. |
